DELL LAUNCHES ITS HIGHEST PERFORMANCE CORPORATE NOTEBOOK PCs AND ANNOUNCES NEW DOCKING HARDWARE

ROUND ROCK, Texas, June 14, 1999 -- Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today announced three new high-performance configurations of its Latitude® CPi corporate notebook personal computer line designed to help lower the total cost of ownership.

Dell also announced that new versions of its docking station and port replicator with enhanced security features and networking performance while maintaining compatibility with all Latitude C-family models will be available next quarter.

New Notebooks:

Available now, the Latitude CPi R400GT features the fastest Intel® Mobile Pentium® II processor at 400MHz and a new chassis with the first 14-inch display on a Latitude CPi. It also supports up to 512MB RAM, one of the largest capacities in the industry. The standard Latitude CPi R400GT configuration includes three year next-business-day onsite service, 64MB RAM, 4MB video RAM, 4.8GB hard disk drive, and 24X-maximum CD-ROM drive for $2,999. Configurable to less than six pounds, Latitude C-family notebooks share the same docking and peripherals including DVD-ROM,

CD-ROM, floppy disk drive, additional hard disk drive, LS-120 drive, battery and AC adapter.

To give corporate customers more choices, Dell also announced two other new Latitude CPi models. The Latitude CPi A400XT has the Intel Mobile Pentium II processor at 400MHz, three year next-business-day onsite service, 13.3-inch active matrix display, 64MB RAM, 4.8GB hard disk drive, and 24X maximum2 CD-ROM drive for $2,999.

The Latitude CPi A366ST features the Intel Mobile Pentium II processor at 366MHz, three year next-business-day onsite service, 12.1-inch active matrix display, 64MB RAM, 4.8GB hard disk drive, and 24X maximum CD-ROM drive for $2,499.

New Docking Hardware:

Dell also announced new versions of its dock expansion station and advanced port replicator. The C/Dock II and C/Port II will be compatible with the entire Latitude C-family, including the first models introduced in 1997. C/Dock II features two PCI card slots and a media bay for enhanced functionality and expandability. The media bay accepts all C-family modules such as floppy disk, hard disk, LS-120, DVD-ROM and CD-ROM drives.

Both C/Dock II and C/Port II feature a new locking mechanism to help prevent theft of the notebook. Both come with an integrated network connection that provides Wake-up On LAN and remote boot capabilities. Available next quarter, the C/Dock II with monitor stand will be $699 and the C/Port with monitor stand will be $399.
