Forthcoming Titles from Rage to be the most photorealistic ever
Rage Software adopts S3’s Texture Compression Technology
LONDON. England --- July 8, 1999 --- Continuing with a tradition of ground-breaking graphics and a desire to adopt key new technologies Rage Software Plc (LSE:RGE) today announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance with S3 Incorporated (Nasdaq: SIII) to include S3TC as standard in all future retail game titles. Due for release beginning in October of this year, Rage’s first four S3TC-based games include Midnight GT, Hostile Waters, Off Road GT and Incoming Forces, the long awaited sequel to the hugely successful Incoming.
Photorealism in games is now possible through S3TC, which was adopted by Microsoft as a standard in DirectX. It is a major leap forward for PC gaming technology as it enables games to utilize up to six times the amount of textures found in today’s games without affecting performance. This will radically improve the image quality of Rage’s new titles maintaining the company’s market lead for cutting edge graphics and game presentation.

Hostile Waters is the first computer game to combine action and strategy elements in a cohesive and highly playable manner. Computer generated realism hits new heights with S3TC, cutting edge physics, world and climate modeling and incredible graphics. Tom Baker, from cult UK children’s science fiction program ‘Doctor Who’ will provide the narration.
Off Road is Rage’s latest action-packed rough and tumble, off road racing game for PC. Race high performance four wheel drive Buggies and Sandrails ‘off road’. Slide, jump, skid and wheel-spin around circuits specifically designed to offer maximum thrills and spills. Top quality physics engine provides ultra-realistic car handling, while S3TC combine with Rage’s usual cutting edge graphics to offer a unique gaming experience.
Midnight GT provides the hottest road racing in Japan in superfast racing simulation. Joining forces with Italy’s world famous design house, Pininfarina, Midnight GT features high powered car designs and concept cars. Rackit, the hot new band from Creation Records provides the sound track.
